What should I expect at my first session?
Your session will be tailored to meet your specific needs and will be discussed with you before your treatment begins.
You will be asked to complete a health history that will be kept confidential. An assessment will be done to determine what may be causing your pain or discomfort. With this information a safe and effective treatment plan can be developed for you. Draping and positioning will ensure that your comfort and modesty are maintained throughout the treatment. Massage techniques and hydrotherapy applications, that are appropriate to your condition, will be used. The appropriate frequency, duration and number of sessions will depend on your condition and goals for treatment. It is your treatment and you may modify or stop it at any time you wish.

How do I know what type of massage to choose?
Please feel free to contact me to discuss which of the many types of massages would be best for you.

Is massage therapy covered by my extended health care plan?
Registered Massage Therapy is covered by many extended health care plans.  Some lucky people also may have coverage for reflexology.  Please contact you employer or your insurance company concerning the details of your plan.  It is important to bring all relevant insurance documents with you so that your claim can be processed with ease.

How do I pay?

Payment by credit card, cash, e-Transfer or direct billing is due at time services are received.

Regrettably insurance receipts for missed appointments or Gift Certificates cannot be issued.

What should I do if I have to cancel or miss my appointment?

The clinic reserves the right to charge the full fee for an appointment that is changed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. By calling ahead this allows this spot to be offered to another client who may benefit from a very much needed session.  The full scheduled fee will be charged for late arrivals.  If you are running late just let me know and I will do my best to give you the treatment that you need.

What if I have sensitivities to lotions and oils?

The lotion used for your treatment is rich, emollient and nourishing for the skin.  If desired, essential oils can be added to enhance the benefits of your treatment.  Although our space is not scent free, due to the small amounts of pure essential oils that are used frequently for treatments, we do ask that you refrain from wearing perfumed beauty products.

What do I wear?
You can wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable, wearing as much or as little as you want. You will be covered with a sheet throughout your session. Only the area being treated on will be undraped. Generally it is suggested that most clothing be removed for a massage so that lotion may be applied directly to the tissue being worked on. It is important for you to feel comfortable and relaxed during your massage.  For a reflexology session only sock and shoes need to be removed.  Wearing stretchy comfortable pants that can be pulled up to just above your knees is ideal.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?
If you are paying for the massage yourself you do not need a doctor’s referral. If you will be using your insurance coverage please check with your provider to see if they require one.

How much time do I need?

Please allow yourself time to arrive 10 minutes prior to your session so that you can unwind from your busy day.  Giving yourself ample time after your treatment, before your next activity of the day, is ideal so that you are not having to rush away.

Can I leave my on phone on?

We offer a serene environment for our clients and kindly request that you turn your cell phone ringer off while in the waiting area and treatment room.  If absolutely necessary to have your phone nearby so you don't miss any emergency calls please set it to vibrate.
